Renewing your trade mark
When do I renew?
To keep your trade mark in force you must renew it on the 10th anniversary of the filing date and every 10 years after that.

How much does it cost?
- £200 for one class of goods or services
- £50 for each extra class
Will I receive a renewal reminder?
Reminder letters are sent 3 months before your renewal is due.
Do I have to renew?
No you can choose to surrender your trade mark at any time.
Can I renew before the due date?
You can renew up to 6 months before the renewal date.
Am I allowed any extra time to renew?
Late renewal is allowed up to 6 months from the renewal date but an extra fee of £50 is added to your renewal fee.
How do I renew once the period allowed for late renewal has expired?
After the 6 month late renewal period there is a further 6 month period where you can apply to restore your mark.
