UK applications filed

In this tab you can search and view details of UK applications for patents filed.

Each entry in the returned data provides the following information: the name(s) of the applicant(s); the title of the invention; the filing date of the application; any priority details; and the application number allotted to the application.

Where an application is requesting an early date under Section 8, 12, 15(9), or 37 of the Act, then the filing date of the earlier application is included.

Where an application is derived from an application under the Patent Cooperation Treaty or is converted from a European Patent Application, then the application number, the publication number, and the date of filing of the PCT or EP application are included.

These applications will not be available to the public for inspection or purchase until the date of publication under Section 16(1) of the Act. Where applicant details are not initially available that entry will appear at the end of the index and the relevant data field will be blank. A further entry will be made when the identity of the applicant is supplied.

The order in which the returned data is listed depends upon the sort option chosen. The default sort is by Publication date, where the entries are arranged first in ascending publication date, then within publication date in ascending application number order.

To choose a different sort option, click on the arrow along side Sort By and select a sort option.

When the sort by Applicant option is chosen, the entries are arranged in alphabetical order according to the applicant’s name.

When the sort by Date Lodged option is chosen, the entries are arranged in ascending date lodged order, and then within data lodged they are arranged in ascending application number order.

When the sort by Earliest date option is chosen, the entries are arranged in ascending earliest date order.
